JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating a shooting in the Lake Forest area of Jacksonville.

According to an arrest report, 54-year-old Patrick Sicard shot his wife multiple times, she survived and he’s facing a charge of attempted murder.

According to the police report, officers arrived to a home on Marion Street around 6:15 Tuesday morning and saw blood drops on the front steps.

They found Sicard inside the home and his wife in the back bedroom suffering from multiple gunshots.

Investigators found multiple letters written by the suspect, with one of the letters in an envelope addressed “to the world.”

The suspect’s mother-in-law was at a neighbor’s house at the time of the shooting, heard the gunfire and ran to the home to discover the victim bleeding.
