FHP: Man killed in I-295 crash near Old St. Augustine Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after an early morning crash on I-295, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the victim was traveling in a sedan approaching Old St. Augustine Road around 1:55 a.m. when he struck the back of a tractor trailer.
The sedan came to final rest in a grassy ditch and a witness observed the vehicle speeding prior to the crash, the report said. The victim has not been identified.
The tractor trailer's driver was not injured, the report said, and it came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.
