Jacksonville, FL - A 43-year-old Florida man has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for making a threatening call to the U.S. Supreme Court targeting Chief Justice John Roberts.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales handed down the sentence to Neal Brij Sidhwaney in Jacksonville.

Sidhwaney pled guilty in December to transmitting an interstate threat to kill.

He was diagnosed with a delusional disorder, as revealed during court proceedings.

Federal agents apprehended Sidhwaney in July in Nassau County following a voicemail he left in August, containing a threat to kill Chief Justice Roberts.

The severity of the threat prompted swift action from federal prosecutors, resulting in Sidhwaney's guilty plea and sentencing.
