The Clay County Fair is up and running but it's hardly the only fun thing going on this weekend in the Jacksonville area. Here's more. The Jacksonville area is experiencing a busy weekend, with festivals, live music, fairs, festivals, and live music. The Clay County Fair is set to open its first weekend and will continue through April 14. The event includes performances by Tyler Farr, Diamond Rio, Martina McBride, and more. The Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach will host free blues music at the beach, with acts such as Vanessa Collier, Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Tab Benoit, Joanne Shaw Taylor and more than a dozen other acts. The Riverside Arts Market is celebrating its 15th anniversary with artists, crafters, farmers, and a silent disco at the Garden Club of Jacksonville. There are also 100 other fun things to do in April in the Jacksonville area.

Spring is booming in the Jacksonville area, with a weekend filled with fairs, festivals, live music and tons of other stuff to do before you have to mow the lawn.

The fairgrounds on SR 16 west of Green Cove Springs will be a hive of activity as the Clay County Fair hits its first full weekend. Ride the Giant Wheel, Zero Gravity or the Crazy Mouse coaster, check out the livestock or the early Florida village, then stick around for Tyler Farr in concert on Friday, Diamond Rio on Saturday and Martina McBride on Sunday. The fair runs through April 14. Tickets are $15, concerts priced separately.

King Henry VIII had six wives, and when they get together to determine which one had the worst experience, the result is “Six,” a Tony Award-winning musical. The touring show wraps its run at the Moran Theater in downtown Jacksonville with performances at 8 p.m. Friday., 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday. $48.50-$164.50.

Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach the place to be this weekend if you’re a blues fan. Springing the Blues brings three days and nights of free blues music at the beach, with Vanessa Collier, Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Tab Benoit, Joanne Shaw Taylor and more than a dozen other acts. It’s free, but you can buy VIP passes for $109-$249.

It’s been 15 years since somebody had the bright idea to use the empty space under the Fuller Warren Bridge off Riverside Avenue for something other than parking. The Riverside Arts Market celebrates its anniversary from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with artists, crafters, farmers and a silent disco. Free. While you’re there, stroll over to the Garden Club of Jacksonville, which is holding its annual Blooms, Galore & More plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pick a genre and you can probably find someone playing it live in Jacksonville this weekend. Hip hop? Da Baby and Yo Gotti are at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena at 8 p.m. Friday ($69-$230). Throwback jazz? Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, is at the Florida Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday ($29.50-$79.50). Americana? Try Turnpike Troubadours, with Elle King and Colby Acuff, at 7 p.m. Saturday at Daily's Place ($49.50-$149.50). Polynesian country-reggae? Maoli is at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall at 7 p.m. Sunday ($30-$35).
