JACKSONVILLE BEACH | A new Mexican restaurant plans to open in Jacksonville Beach with the philosophy that it wants to be more than just a place for chips, salsa, tacos, margaritas and other classic fare.

Located at 950 Marsh Landing Parkway Suite 370 in Marsh Landing Plaza shopping center, 1810 Tacos Y Tequila describes itself as "a locally owned establishment that was created with the intent of providing great Mexican food and delicious drinks, but most of all a place where customers can call this place a home away from home."

No opening date has been announced although the main sign is up on the building, a 6,000-square-foot storefront space with an outdoor patio that was used previously by Whiskey Jax.

The restaurant will join other tenants including World Market, Jos. A. Banks, Petco and Mattress Firm in the shopping center.
