Navy Medicine conducted its first pilot test of the Operational Medicine Care Delivery Platform (OpMed CDP) aboard the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) to bring modern, seamless patient care to service members aboard ships, Dec. 1-12. The U.S. Navy has conducted its first pilot test of the Operational Medicine Care Delivery Platform (OpMed CDP) aboard the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) in Mayport, Florida. The system was developed as part of a modernized health IT software suite and aims to provide seamless patient care to service members on ships. The pilot program was established through a partnership with the U.N. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), U.K. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (CNSL), Commander of Naval Medical Forces Atlantic (NMFL), and JOMIS. The next phase of the pilot trial is to ensure that the final product is resilient and ready for the fleet. Once all phases are complete, OpMed will be used for daily medical operations.
